  • March 1st: WOOT! The lab gets 1 percentile for NCI-R01 and a score of 20 for NIGMS-MIRA!!!!

  • Feb 16th: Priyanka gives a talk and Natasha a poster at the EMBO DNA repair meeting in India!

  • Feb 2nd: Lindsey passes her QE-yet another outstanding PhD candidate added to the lab!

  • Jan 20th: Priyanka was awarded the OCRA Schreiber Research Prize for Outstanding Mentored Investigator!

  • Jan 10th: Lab receives Siteman Research Program Catalyst Award from the Breast Cancer Program !

2023

  • October 18th: An amazing thesis committee presentation by Natasha. Also, she gets the best poster prize at the MGG retreat!

  • October 12th/13th: Priyanka presents our ALC1 story at Social DNAing and Kanas University Medical Center!

  • September 22nd: Lindsey Aubuchon is awarded the competitive Molecular Oncology Training Grant!

  • August 14th: We welcome our new postdoc Tibebe Antonios and research tech, Vrutti Mehta!

  • August 2nd: Verma Lab is two years old now!

  • July 5th: Grateful for a big-three year Career Catalyst Research grant from Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation!

  • May 11th: Another fun CGI retreat-Taylor gave a fabulous talk and Natasha presents a poster on her exciting story!

  • May 6th: Lab attends 2023 Midwest DNA repair conference. Natasha & Taylor got the second prize for poster and Ena gave a fantastic talk!

  • April 14th: Congrats to our star undergrad Kevin Song to receive the BioSURF Fellowship!

  • March 30th: Another wonderful addition to the team-Lindsey Aubuchon joins the lab for her Ph.D.!

  • March 27th: First federal grant for the lab from the Ovarian Cancer Academy-Department of Defense!

  • March 25th: Our paper on performing arrayed CRISPR screen using Cas9 orthologs is online now!

  • March 20th: Priyanka gives a talk on our recent ALC1 work at the Keystone DNA Repair Meeting!

  • February 27th: We welcome rotation student, Lindsey Aubuchon, from the Cancer Biology Program!

  • February 10th: Our method paper on Quantifying ss-DNA in cells in online now. Great job by Natasha and Ena!

  • January 11th:Thank you Siteman Cancer Center for a great start to the New Year-the lab receives the ACS-IRG funding!

2022

  • December 9th: Two big events: Ayda won the best talk at the Siteman Cancer Symposium and the first Pubmed entry from the lab!

  • November 28th: Big day for the Verma Lab: Natasha passes her QE with flying colors!!

  • October 10th: We are grateful for the Fourth grant in this year-thank you Mary Kay Ash Foundation!

  • October 3rd: Lab gets another big grant from Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance!

  • Sep14th: Natasha, Ena & Priyanka attend the fun MGG retreat-Natasha gave a spectacular poster presentation! Wait -she is still in GR2!

  • Sept 6: We welcome rotation student, Ena Haseljic!

  • Aug 17: Our lab receives the prestigious V-Foundation Award!
